Billie King, a.k.a. Raqie Dane, began her rise in junior high as a hip-hop artist, becoming the first West Coast female signed to Loud Records and later Koch Records. She penned songs for top R&B acts like Az Yet, KC & JoJo, and Jodeci, while also developing a strong business acumen. Her growing reputation in artist management led others to seek her guidance.
Initially focused on writing and producing, King soon expanded into artist management, turning small favors into a thriving enterprise. After directing music videos, she attended UCLA Extension to study directing
In 2010 King inked a multi-million dollar film production deal, which proves she can, and will get it done. King has no desire to be the “next so and so” in the game but would rather stand next to the best the industry has to offer and have her legacy be that of a strong young woman who opened the doors of opportunity to talented independent artists, encouraging them to go forth and do great works.
